Event Summary:
A 5K trail race to celebrate the start of the apple picking season.
Event Details:
Background Information: We are a family owned and operated orchard that is kicking off the apple picking season with an Apple Festival. We will start the day's activities with a 1/2 mile fun run followed by a 5K, kids games, contests, cider donuts, horse drawn wagon rides, apple picking and lots of fun!
Course Description: The race will take place at the Scott's Yankee Farmer Apple Orchard. The 3.2 mile scenic cross country trail takes runners past the greenhouses that are used in the late winter to start growing produce, perennial and annual flowers, past the historic cider mill, through fields of produce, and through the back fields of the farm. Expect a mixed terrain.
The Fun Run will start at 10:00 am and the 5K event will start at 10:30 am. Registration will begin at 8:00 am.
Advance entry $12, race day entry $15.Entry to the Fun Run is free (max age 8 yrs).
All proceeds go to the East Lyme BSA fundraiser for sending popcorn to the troops over seas.
Entries are non-transferable and non-refunable. No rain date.
