I'm aware that it's recommended that car seats be in the back seat because it's safer, in the eventRead More of an accident. But is it really safer to drive around, with your eyes on the road and unable to see your baby?
Annabelle Grace July 10, 2014 at 02:09 pm
People are very distracted these days, I'm not saying it's an excuse but we are human and who amongRead More us hasn't been in a situation where we are stupefied by our own mistakes? I also believe Porter is right, we shouldn't need the name of the person responsible. I feel that too many things are public these days. What this couple..this family will have to live with the rest of their lives no one would wish for. Compassion is needed.
Annabelle Grace July 10, 2014 at 02:15 pm
I also think the police showed good judgement and I think the people who were screaming for namesRead More should be ashamed of themselves.

Ct has a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to even sniff at the level of corruption inRead More Flori-dah !!!!! http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/09/us/hampton-florida-corruption/

If you got a ticket for speeding on an Interstate Highway in Connecticut this weekend, you wereRead More driving in excess of 75MPH. You were lucky not to get a ticket for reckless driving...

Yes ABG i do get your point that arabs /muslims have been terrorizing the world. I do actuallyRead More think that they get profiled. I think there is reason to profile them. I totally understand that. I think my response was not well written in that, at the end of the day, my experiences are that granny is rarely if ever searched and when she is, the media makes a big deal about it. Arabs are, and if I were Arab I would both be pist and understanding. The prison system is crazyily occupied by blacks. The question always is if they just get bad lawyers, are caught more often (the Bell Curve suggests that blacks are caught more often as opposed to do more crimes --and politically incorrectly attribute that to iq) etc. I dont have the answers. I think when you grow up in a crime ridden area with little hope youre more inclined to resort to crime. Im not sure it has to do with race as opposed to poverty. As far as traffic goes, the numbers above dont lead me to believe that there is anything crazy going on. And again the racial makeup of the police departments issuing the traffic tickets might also be examined. I.e are black officers handing out more tickets to whites, blacks, or in proportion? Are female or white etc officers more inclined to hand tickets out to -----------fill in the blank, females, white, black whatever. The big mistake is to observe a town such as New Canaan with a high white populatin away from highways and study data there, then to look at data in Darien which has I-95 running through it as well as route 1 and a pretty high-traffic area with rest stops etc and then analyze the data there as though the population is doing the arresting.
Igor July 9, 2014 at 11:13 am
There are so many variables in these studies (porter has pointed out a few) that it makes the wholeRead More study useless and a waste of money. The big problem I see is people take the portion they want and run with it, but gloss over the parts that don't show their point in a favorable light.
Thomas Paine July 10, 2014 at 03:45 pm
Igor - It is the rare human being who does not do what you describe. >>> Porter - My pointRead More is that those who complain about profiling point to disproportionate stops/arrests/etc compared to representation in the general population rather than looking at historical data on incidents, etc. Such people will ignore that the white stops are nearly equal to their representation; they will point to the black stops being higher than their population representation and yet ignore that that cohort is more likely than the others to be violators. In traffic stops, particularly on highways, LEOs stop those who violate or act suspiciously, not those who fit a certain profile. As has been pointed out by others, rarely is the race of a driver known until they are pulled over.
Igor July 3, 2014 at 09:08 pm
There is no excuse and I wish people would stop trying to make excuses for these idiots.
Marcie Kane July 6, 2014 at 05:14 pm
What is wrong with people? You don't "forget" that you are caring for an infant. Are theseRead More people all on drugs or drinking? I feel so bad for these babies, screaming and roasting in a car because some idiot is too self-involved to "remember" that they are there.

No trial? What? I bet if a couple of kids came pointing to you and said "There he is, heRead More exposed himself to us" you would want a trial....I agree they are the worst of the worst but come on dude, what the hell are you thinking?
chuck July 2, 2014 at 09:01 pm
Yeah...I know...he's gonna get a trial. I'm just being a little over the top, but my frustrationRead More with the proliferation of these freaks has reached a new level. If caught and then found guilty, he should be castrated and imprisoned like I said. Sick of these molesters hovering around our playgrounds and ball fields.

How is this any different from photographers who take pics of celebrities sunbathing in the nude atRead More a private retreat. I don't see them going to jail. Or anyone who takes any picture of anyone when it's intruding their privacy. It's easy to come out with medieval reactions in this case but law needs to be clear and fair.
Bob Kirk July 2, 2014 at 09:56 am

Igor July 4, 2014 at 10:23 am
I love how people try ti justify doing stupid shit. I don't think wearing a normal skirt or dressRead More can be seen as revealing. These women were covered, not nude, not in a bikini. Just going about their business. There's no justification for what this guy did. Castration is a bit harsh though. Although if he's married his wife could think of something even more devastating.

I'm glad no one was injured in the search for this teen. How about "Found Safe in CT"?

How heartless can you be?? This is a form of mental illness, often triggered by a trauma. TheseRead More people are typically very loving and giving people who weren't always suffering from this illness, but were once productive members of society. You judgmental a-holes think you are somehow above reproach and actually celebrate their death?? Wow!

Having spent the last few years throwing out the hoardings of my late husband (Question: how manyRead More cans of tomato soup do you need when it is on sale? Answer: 27) my heart goes out to this poor woman. As Val says, hoarding is a medically recognized obsessive-compulsive disorder and can be treated if help is sought.
Jim June 14, 2014 at 02:50 pm
When you look at the amounts they obtained, and the length of time it took to get this money, theyRead More are truly idiots. It will cost them far more than what they got in legal fees alone to try and keep their sorry a$$es out of prison. That coupled with losing their jobs and having to pay restitution makes it a bad move to even think they could get away with it.

You have to wonder how many more people are out there defrauding the government for benefits.
Socialist Worker June 17, 2014 at 02:27 pm
How many Fairfield county bankers went to jail after the housing bubble burst? I guess if itsRead More working class people this a major crime but if its a banker than no laws apply. The government maintains massive databases on everyone's communications. Why is it that the state and federal government database cross checking allowed this money to be paid out? Not enough computer nerds to write programs? The only way to underreport wages and receive compensation is to be partially unemployed. In that situation the state asks you to estimate wages and hours you will receive. If you are totally unemployed than it is not possible to be overpaid since the system determines your eligibility and payment by paperwork and computer. ...17,204 in benefits from January 2010 through January 2014. An average error of approximately $83 a week at $15 an hour about 5.5 hours over. Interestingly that appears to be close to the difference between 34 hours a week and 40 hours.

the people who really pick the right homes to buy are in patrol cars. real estate agents thinkRead More commission and might not even know what officers know. they should be consulted with an offer of about $500.00 cash before buying. large puddles exist all over the country. wood rots !!!! black mold grows!!!
