Holiday Decorating 101 - The Kissing Ball

The weather is perfect for outdoor decorating!

The kissing ball dates back to the 18th-century with charming romantic traditions.  As the story goes, when a young lady stands under a kissing ball, she would remove a berry for each kiss received from her suiter until all were gone.

Today, you will find these lovely holiday spheres decorated many ways, using a variety of material from greens to papers.  Decorating is only limited by your imagination or should I say, the imagination of my Veggie Elves!

We make kissing balls right here in Niantic and love the idea of hanging them in a doorway or from a chandelier to add interest to any room.  You can also hang them on your front porch, right where your hanging baskets spent the summer, for an extra special presentation.

Now is the time to green up your home and we can help you get those creative juices flowing!  The weather perfect for outdoor decorating and there are only 2 weeks left in this holiday season!

Stop by today and say hi to our Veggie Elves.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
