Bee There!

Mark Your Calendar for the FIRST LOL Education Foundation TRIVIA BEE to be held on Friday, November 2, 2012, 7:00pm at the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School Auditorium.

Please join us for a fun evening, fundraising event, featuring teams from your favorite local businesses, schools and neighborhoods competing for the coveted Honey Pot and bragging rights.

Local businesses including Shoreline Paving, Essex Financial, All Pro, Ashlawn Farm, Zelmanow Dental and Coldwell Banker are just some of the 20+ teams answering trivia questions from categories including science, sports, history, popular culture and geography.

The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be available, as well as a tech raffle. You are sure to know some of the contestants from Lyme Consolidated School’s teaching staff, your local Town Administrators, The Florence Griswold Museum, The Lyme and the PGN Libraries.

Come on out and cheer them on, see if you can recognize them (as many will be in costume) and help support the Lyme Old Lyme Education Foundation, funding of grants for our teachers and students. I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
