Rep. Jutila to Head Government Administration and Elections Committee

State Representative Ed Jutila (D-East Lyme/Salem) has been appointed to serve as House Chair of the Government Administration and Elections Committee by Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden).

"Maintaining the integrity and transparency of our government is extremely critical to serving our constituents well," Rep. Jutila said. "I am honored to have been selected to serve as House Chair of this important committee and look forward to working in this new capacity this session."

The Government Administration and Elections Committee oversees all matters relating to the Department of Administrative Services, Public Works, the Freedom of Information Commission, the Ethics Commission and all matters relating to elections and election laws.

"Ed Jutila has earned the respect of his colleagues in the General Assembly and I am confident that he will bring the same principles as chair of our Government Administration & Elections Committee," Speaker Sharkey said.

Rep. Jutila, who was first elected to office in 2004, will continue to serve on the Public Safety and Transportation Committees.
