Police Investigate Attempted Burglary in Old Lyme

Police are investigating an attempted burglary at 9 Flat Rock Hill Road in Old Lyme on January 15. According to the police report, the property owner returned home to find the front door had been forced open. Although the door and the door jam were damaged, police say there was no evidence that the perpetrator or perpetrators gained entry to the home.

Judd Randolph, 53, of 5 Beach Lane in Oakdale, was traveling eastbound on Salem Road just east of Route 156 in Lyme on January 10 when he drifted off the side of the road, striking a utility pole, according to the police report. Police located Randolph at his home and issued a misdemeanor summons for leaving the scene of an accident and for failure to drive in the proper lane. No injuries were reported.  

Kevin H. Rich, 49, of 59 Buttonball Road in Old Lyme was arrested on January 16 and charged with failure to appear. Bond was set at $5,000. Rich was also charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, which police allegedly found when they went to his home to execute the PRAWN warrant for failure to appear in court. Rich was issued an infraction for possession.

State Police Troop E in Montville

Keil L. Williams, 22, of 153 Black Point Road in Niantic turned himself in to Troop E on January 16 on an active PRAWN warrant for failure to appear. Williams was charged with failure to appear in the second degree. Bond was set at $2,500.

Dalton C. Sobiech, 22, of 268 Roxbury Road in Niantic turned himself in to Troop E on January 16 on an active PRAWN warrant for failure to appear. Sobiech was charged with failure to appear in the second degree. Bond was set at $5,000.
