State police from Troop F are investigating the theft of copper from Sicuranza Electric Company in Old Lyme on February 4. The larceny was captured on camera at about 3 a.m., when a truck with the Connecticut license plate 2860-CH was observed pulling into the company lot and dropping off an unidentified individual.
The same vehicle was then captured on surveillance cameras as it pulled into Point of Woods beach area. The vehicle later returned to 389 Shore Road in Old Lyme, pulling into the western upper portion of Sicuranza's parking lot. Another truck then pulled into the lot and an unidentified person helped load cooper. The truck was then observed traveling on Route 156 toward East Lyme.
The investigating officer traced the license plate recorded on camera to Enterprise Rent a Car, which stated that the vehicle had been sold. Officers are currently tracing the current owner of the vehicle identified during the robbery.
