Police Blotter: Arrest Reports for East Lyme

November 22
William H. Budds, 46, of 3 Kensington Drive, East Lyme, was charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree after East Lyme Police were called to respond to a domestic dispute. According to the police report, the suspect left the residence before police arrived following an argument with his wife. Police found Budds at his place of employment, where he was arrested for an assault that left his wife with a minor cut to her ankle. Bond was set at $1,000.

November 25
Christian P. Vargas, 23, of 309 Crystal Avenue, apartment E8, New London, was charged with larceny in the 6th degree when East Lyme Police were called to the Motel 6 at 269 Flanders Road in East Lyme following a report of employee theft. According to the police report, the motel manager called police to report an employee caught on videotape stealing from the cash register at the front desk.

After reviewing the tape and questioning the suspect, the investigating officer reported that Vargas confessed to taking $70 that day and $40 the day before. The suspect was arrested and taken to Troop E for processing. Bond was set at $2,500.
November 26
Leah Iacono, 36, of 73 Riverview Road, Niantic, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. According to the police report, the accused was observed driving a heavily damaged vehicle on I-95 southbound and was pulled over at Exit 74. She told police she did not realize she had hit anything. The suspect subsequently failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest.
November 27
Richard L. Herrera of 35 West Street, #1, New London, was charged with violation of a restraining order (nonthreatening/family) on September 14, 2012. The incident took place on the Boston Post Road in East Lyme. Herrera turned himself in to the New London Police Department after learning there was an active arrest warrant for him. Bond was set at $20,000.
