State Police Troop F in Westbrook are investigating a complaint of a stolen package taken from 15 Lone Pine Trail in Old Lyme on Oct. 4. According to a police report dated Oct. 10, the package contained a Miller Welding Contractors' Kit. Anyone with any information, please call Trooper Ewing at (860) 399-2100.
A vehicle driving Eastbound on Halls Road in Old Lyme was struck head-on by another vehicle at the intersection with Route 1. The driver of the offending vehicle, Thomas Christopher, 27, of 2 Spruce Street, Old Lyme, was charged with traveling too fast, failure to stay in the proper lane while turning onto Halls Road and, after the driver allegedly failed a field sobriety test, Christopher was also charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Lawrence B. Flores, 36, of 903 Drew Street, Apt. 133, Brooklyn, NY, was charged with larceny in the fifth degree; illegal use of a credit card (illegal card/card belonging to another person); receipt of money/goods/services by illegal credit card use; and criminal impersonation. Bond was set at $5,000.
According to the police report filed at State Police Troop E in Montville, the accused was apprehended after a clerk at Rite Aid on Flanders Road in East Lyme suspected fraudulent activity and called police. When police arrived, the suspect fled on foot up Chesterfield Road and through East Lyme High School just as students were being dismissed.
The suspect was caught at the High School without incident and was allegedly found to be in possession of a fraudulent New Jersey driver's license and two fraudulent Mastercard credit cards with matching names.
