Newtown School Closes Tuesday After Reported Threat

A threat against Head O' Meadow school in Newtown on Tuesday preempts students' return.

An undisclosed threat reportedly made on Head O’Meadow School in Newtown Tuesday morning, prompting the school to close for the day yesterday.

Newtown students returned to class Tuesday for the first time since the tragic slaying of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday and after another, anonymous shooting threat (ultimately discovered to be a hoax) was made during a special Mass at St. Rose of Lima on Sunday.

NBC30 is reporting that the school’s staff is safe and accounted for and, due to a two-hour delay in effect district-wide Tuesday morning, no students were in the building at the time the threat was made.
