More Charges Coming in Lyme Burglary Investigation

Karl and Justin Weissinger both face additional charges relating to burglaries that took place in Lyme earlier this year.

On December 7, Karl William Weissinger, 21, of 151 Brush Hill Road in Lyme was served with two additional arrest warrants relating to what the police report describes as "numerous burglaries and larcenies that occurred in the Lyme/Old Lyme area over the past year."

The accused was charged with burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, larceny in the first degree (theft from a building) and conspiracy to commit larceny in the first degree. Those charges stem from a burglary in February, 2012, on Brush Hill Road in Lyme.

Karl Weissinger was also served with a second arrest warrant containing the same charges, this time in connection to a second burglary in June, 2012, on Mount Archer Road in Lyme. Weissinger was arraigned at GA 10 District Court in New London on December 7 after failing to post bonds totaling $100,000.

His accused co-conspirator, Justin Weissinger, is currently incarcerated in Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville. Police plan to serve him with eight additional arrest warrants charging Justin Weissinger with similar crimes when he next appears in court on December 12.
