Saybrook Point Inn & Spa Donates $75,000 to Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts

Saybrook Point Inn & Spa, through the Louis F. and Mary A. Tagliatela Family Foundation, has donated $75,000 to the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts located in Old Lyme, Connecticut. This will help to secure the College's financial base during the first years of transition as it becomes the sixth college of the University of New Haven.

“On behalf of my family, we are honored to be able to support one of Connecticut’s most treasured and storied academic and fine arts institutions,” said Stephen Tagliatela, Innkeeper/Managing Partner, Saybrook Point Inn & Spa. “Lyme Academy College has been an inspiration for so many young artists and art lovers that we’re thrilled to be able to keep this tradition alive in the community for generations to learn and explore their passion for fine art and creative expression.”

To date, in an overwhelming and unprecedented vote of support for Lyme Academy College's proposed affiliation with the University of New Haven, more than 40 friends of the College have made three-year commitments totaling nearly $850,000 each year. The gifts, part of a campaign to raise $1 million a year for the next three years, are essential to secure the College's financial base during the first years of the transition as the sixth college of the University.
