Home Craft Country Store on 179 Boston Post Road in East Lyme is partnering with Animal Welfare League of New London County to have a Pet Lovers Weekend December 15 & 16.

With every donation of cat or dog food (wet and dry), treats, toys, accessories and/or bedding given Home Craft Country Store will give donors a country themed candle holder. And, all donations received that weekend will help New London and Montville pound animals who are without their homes and families!

AWL volunteers will welcome folks to this unique country store during their weekend hours of Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. We are planning a few surprises in keeping with the season: pet goodies in a surprise grab-a-bag for $1.00 donation; a visit from Santa’s little helpers, Jasmine Joy and Saving Grace, AWL‘s beautiful Ambassa-dogs; and, meet a local cat rescue with Christmas kitties in need of furr-ever homes this holiday.

Home Craft Country store is located on Rt. 1:

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
