Dear Members of the Lyme/Old Lyme Community:
I write to you in great anticipation of this year's first Community Thanksgiving Service to be jointly conducted by members of each of the participating congregations in Lyme and Old Lyme, this year being held at Saint Ann's Church, 82 Shore Road, Old Lyme, CT. Invited participants include members from all the Lyme/Old Lyme Churches willing to serve as readers, acolytes, or join in the community choir as we join together to thank God for all the blessings we have received. We also will be holding up those who have not had the numerous blessing many of us have had as we ask each person joining us to provide a can of non-perishable food which we collectively will provide to our Lyme/Old Lyme Church Food Pantry housed in Old Lyme at the First Congragational Church. We will also be taking up a freewill offering to provide financial assistance for the Homeless Hospitality Center in New London as they address our housing needs and provide shelter for those in our region who are without shelter. Please alert us of your willingness to join us by responding by 13 November as I am thankful that we are hosting this service this year and look forward to others hosting this in the years to come as we gather together, united as the people of God, to ask the Lord's blessing.

Many Blessings,

The Rev Canon Mark K J Robinson

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
