The September Sale at the Charity Bookshop runs through September 26. All books and other items marked with green dot labels will be on sale at half-price. After Sept. 26, most of these books will disappear from our shelves as we make room for incoming shipments and donations.
September is a great time to browse our shelves. Our fiction collection is huge. We have something for everyone. Non-fiction
ranges from history and politics to sports, the arts, religion, self-help and health. We have shelves filled with cookbooks, others with books on boating and sailing, parenting, education and humor.
The Charity Bookshop is a non-profit bookstore that sells new & used books in both hardcover and paperback at incredibly low prices. Prices range from $0.50 to $2.00. A handful of coffee table books are marked at $5.00. Our children’s books sell for one-half the prices that we charge for adult books.
When you shop at the Charity Bookshop, you benefit a worthy cause. All receipts go directly to The Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT. If you read about the recent layoffs at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, you know that L&M no longer runs the Safe Kids program. Fortunately, the Child and Family Agency agreed to take over this program. Learn more by visiting The Day at http://www.theday.com/article/20130905/NWS01/309059430/0/SEARCH .
The Charity Bookshop is staffed by volunteers who are members of the Groton Auxiliary of the Child and Family Agency. We welcome donations of clean, gently used books.
