Weather-Related Closings for East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Lyme

Lyme-Old Lyme Schools early dismissal, East Lyme after-school activities cancelled, Lymes' Senior Center closed.

Light snow is expected to accumulate to one to two inches over the next six hours, possibly bringing a wintry mix of snow or rain during this afternoon's commute. The following closures have been announced.

  • All East Lyme Board of Education meetings scheduled for tonight have been cancelled. The public hearing on the proposed school budget has been rescheduled for next Monday, with the special budget meeting to follow. 
  • East Lyme schools have cancelled all after-school activities today, except for daycare. Schools will be dismissed at the usual times, however.
  • Lyme-Old Lyme Schools have announced early dismissal.
  • Old Lyme After-School Programs are closed. 
  • The Lymes' Senior Center is closed.
  • Lighthouse Vocational Education in Niantic is closing at 2 p.m.
  • St. Matthias Church in East Lyme has no afternoon activities.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
