Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree!

Old Lyme celebrates the season with a Christmas tree lighting and community carol sing.

No one would ever say that Old Lyme's Christmas tree rivals that of Lincoln Center but the cheerful carols and good spirits lifted everyone's mood yesterday.

This was the 14th annual lighting ceremony and it was heralded by Lyme-Old Lyme High School's Select Singers and the musical stylings of the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School Band.

First Selectwoman Bonnie Reemsnyder did the honors, turning on the tree as the crowd counted down.

"For all of us it was wonderful to see our children singing and playing," said Reemsnyder. "We're gazing at them and we're really appreciating that we have them in front of us."
