About 30 homes on Salem Road lost power in Lyme earlier today. Lyme First Selectman Ralph Eno said Connecticut Light and Power is on the scene and estimates that power will be restored by between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. this afternoon. CL&P reports the problem is an open fuse.
In East Lyme, 146 CL&P customers were also without power as of 1:30 p.m. One person reported that he was without power on Walnut Hill Road, which isn't far from Salem Turnpike Road.
Although the cause of the outage is not yet clear, there is a high wind advisory in effect until 12 a.m. on Monday, with gusts of up to 50 mph., which always poses a risk for power lines and trees.
