What's Happening At Hamburg Fair?
The little town of Lyme's biggest event of the year is August 16-18. Here's a look at the schedule to help you plan your visit.
The 112th annual Hamburg Fair is nearly upon us.
This old-fashioned agricultural fair offers something for everyone and has huge family appeal, with lots of kids activities, music, carnival rides, animal demonstrations, historic reenactments, antique tractors and contests for best pies, best vegetables, art and crafts. Best of all, it's not so big that you're likely to lose the kids and the prices are very affordable.
General admission is $5, kids up to age 12 are free. Seniors and service men and women (with ID), $3. Ride bracelets are available for $25 on Friday (5 p.m. to 10 p.m.), Saturday (to ride either 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., or you can pay $35 to ride all day), Sunday (11 a.m.-5 p.m.)
Hamburg Fair will be held at the fairgrounds on Route 156 next to the Grange Hall at 1 Sterling City Road, in Lyme on August 16, 17, and 18. If you want to enter any one of the many contests, entries will be accepted in the Grange Hall Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 1:00-4:30 p.m.
