Where Am I And Whaddaya Know?

A weekly quiz to test your local knowledge of East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Lyme!

This week I thought I'd choose a cozy scene to warm us all up now that the winter chill is beginning to set in. And once again, the question is:

Where Am I?

This will be easy for some of you, harder for others, but to make it just a tad more challenging, here are a couple of questions:

  1. What is the name of this prrrrfectly content kitty?
  2. What is going to happen to this place next year?

Jane Capozza correctly answered the previous quiz—well done, Jane! The answer was Smith Acres on Route 158 in Niantic, a family-run garden center owned by Teri and Joe Smith that specializes in organic and locally-grown produce and plants and trees. The center also boasts the largest selection of pottery for the garden.

I also know from personal experience that this is a really great place to get a Christmas tree if you're looking for a really big one!

As always, if you think you know the answer to this week's quiz, please, write it in the comments.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
