Lyme Library Cat Celebrates Her 10th Anniversary

Emma the cat went from being homeless to become Queen of the Library. For her anniversary party, she'd be happy to receive donations of pet supplies for local shelters.

Emma the cat is celebrating her 10th anniversary at the Lyme Public Library, and the Library is marking the event with a party on Saturday, February 9 from 1 to 3 p.m..  Refreshments will be served.  Donations of cat and dog food, toys, blankets, etc. will be accepted on Emma’s behalf for a local animal shelter.

Emma arrived at the Library from a local animal shelter in February 2003.  Almost immediately, she became a beloved member of the Library staff and the Lyme community.  She has had visitors from all over the country, has appeared in Cat Fancy magazine, and is featured in a book entitled Working Cats of Southern New England.  She also has her own page on the Library’s web site and is on Twitter @EmmaLymePLCat.

If the Library is closed on February 9 due to bad weather, the party will be held on Saturday, February 16. Please call 860-434-2272 for more information.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.
