Arthur Murray Donates 138 Meals to Plow Drivers

A canceled event has led to a well-deserved meal for the men and women clearing our roads.

Connecticut's Arthur Murray Dance Studio locations were going to hold a teacher appreciation gala in Hartford tonight, but the event was canceled because of the snow.

Because the cancellation was so late, the people running the gala told Arthur Murray that they still had to pay for the gala and the 138 meals that were ordered.

Well, according to Arthur Murray Niantic owner Jessica Freitas, after posting the cancellation on the Hartford Courant's website and talking to some people, Arthur Murray finally found something to do with those 138 dinners: send them off to Connecticut public works crews for the drivers of all the plow trucks. The meals will now be given to the men and women clearing our roads.

Arthur Murray Dance Studios has more than 260 locations, including Bloomfield, Danbury, Glastonbury, Greenwich, Hamden, New Britain, Niantic and Vernon.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
