High Hopes Presents the Yale Whiffenpoofs

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is pleased to present the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group, the Yale Whiffenpoofs, in concert on January 20th at 1:30pm at the First Church of Christ in Old Saybrook.  Founded in 1909, the “Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory’s Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern.

Today the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated and hallowed traditions, carrying on a century of musical excellence and professional showmanship at Yale, across America and around the world.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit the programs and participants of High Hopes Therapeutic Riding. Ticket prices for the concert are $25 for adults and $12 for children and students. Following the concert, a special full tea reception with the Whiffenpoofs will be held at the church.

Tickets to attend both the concert and the reception are $50 for adults and $20 for children and students. Space is limited and tickets should be purchased in advance.

For tickets or more information regarding the concert, please visit the High Hopes website www.highhopestr.org or call Alicia Barrows at High Hopes at 860-434-1974, ext. 123.

I wondered that myself when I looked at it, then noticed that lots of our local farmers marketsRead More aren't on the map. When I dug a little deeper, I noticed that all the markets the state lists are "self-reported" in other words, markets have to let the state know and then they're added.

As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
