Friday, Jan. 11th is deadline for Greenleaf Music Award Applications

The Carolyn Greenleaf Fund Committee is accepting music and voice applications for the Spring 2013 Carolyn Greenleaf music education award.

All application materials must be submitted no later than Friday, January 11, 2013.

The award provides a 17-week session of 30 minute private lessons at the Community Music School in Centerbrook, CT.

Applications will be accepted from area high school students who wish to study voice or any instrument.

The award is based on merit, not financial need.

The Carolyn Greeleaf Music Award Fund is an endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County. The Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Middlesex County.  Its two-fold mission is: (1) to work with charitably-minded individuals and organizations to build permanent endowments and other charitable funds; and (2) to support local nonprofit organizations through effective grant making and multiple programs to address community needs. As a parent of 2 children that attend NCS, I do not think the elementary school is the best place toRead More relocate Coastal Connection to. I feel that beyond my concerns, my children may feel threatened or uncomfortable in a school with kids that are so much older than they are. It just doesn't seem like this would be the best decision for any of the children that would be affected by this change.
