Lyme Public Library Recovering From Malware Attack

The Lyme Public Library's web site has been fixed but a dire warning still pops up.

A malware program invaded ’s web site earlier this month. The site was attacked in early July but if you've clicked there recently, you'll have seen a dire warning that it's a “Reported Attack site" and that using it could damage your computer or distribute harmful software onto your machine and spread it to others.

The Lyme Library wants everyone to know there's no further reason for concern. The Library has fixed the problem and the web site is now free of malware. The only remaining issue is that browsers that check web sites for malware and viruses haven't rescanned the site since the attack, hence the message still pops up.

The library is continuing to work on that problem but if you're worried, you can go to the library blog and access the online catalog via the sidebar, where you'll find links to the Library’s downloadable catalog, the events calendar, and the ICONN database.

If you've got any questions or need assistance, please call the library at (860) 434-2272.
